I was fascinated to read this article about Offer Up Founder/CEO, Nick Huzar, written by Drew Stuart at the Bellevue Reporter.
My wife, Zarina, and I love to buy and sell stuff via Offer Up. She does most of it so this topic of safety when making transactions is close to my heart. I am very appreciative of Nick and his team’s efforts at innovating a safe experience for my wife and kids, who are often with my wife during Offer Up transactions.
Offer Up has provided a safe experience in a number of ways including being able to text or call within the app and creating “Community MeetUp Spots” near police stations or well-known local retailers. They even coordinated these efforts with the police and local businesses. Very impressive way to care for their customers.
One aspect of risk that is often revealed in our 360 Roadmap process and surprises my clients is identifying the risks their business activities pose to others around them such as customers, employees and even neighboring businesses.
