Valuables & Collections Insurance

Jewelry, art, wine, and watches deserve more than the fine print of a standard home insurance policy. That's where valuables insurance helps. First Underwriters covers each piece for its full, agreed value. Your cover is worldwide, with no deductible. See how much of your collection is protected in 60 seconds.

Independent broker · Top-rated carriers · No cost to compare

A standard home policy often caps jewelry theft at
$1,500
That's the total — no matter what your ring, watch, or collection is worth. Fine art, wine, and coins get even less.
  • Agreed value, no deductible, covered worldwide
  • Covers loss, theft, damage & mysterious disappearance

Collection Coverage Estimator

See how much of your collection is really covered.

Pick what you own and how large the collection is. We'll estimate its value. Then we'll show how little a standard home or renters policy would pay. That's the gap valuables insurance fills.

      Why scheduled coverage wins

Five things a home policy won't do — but valuables insurance will.

The Insurance Information Institute notes that a standard home policy caps jewelry theft at about $1,500. A scheduled valuables policy — a "floater" — is built for the things you treasure. Choose each one to see what it does and the gap it closes.

      Valuables insurance FAQs

Straight answers on scheduling jewelry, art, wine, and the rest of what you've collected.

Only to a point. A standard home or renters policy typically caps jewelry theft around $1,500 total, with even lower sublimits for coins, silver, and firearms — and it pays depreciated value, not full replacement. A scheduled valuables policy covers each item for its full agreed value.

A floater is a policy that lists (schedules) each valuable item at an agreed value based on an appraisal. It covers loss, theft, accidental damage, and mysterious disappearance — usually with no deductible and worldwide coverage.

For higher-value pieces, yes — a current appraisal (generally within 3–5 years) sets the agreed value. Some items can be scheduled with a detailed receipt. We help you determine what documentation each carrier requires.

Jewelry, watches, fine art, wine, antiques and collectibles, firearms, musical instruments, coins and stamps, designer handbags, silver and flatware, furs, and sports memorabilia — among others. If you treasure it, there's usually a way to schedule it.

Yes. Scheduled valuables coverage generally follows your items anywhere in the world — whether you're traveling, at a show, or storing them in a safe-deposit box.

Wine collections can be insured for breakage, spoilage, and losses from mechanical or temperature-control failure — exposures a standard home policy does not address. Coverage can be scheduled by bottle or as a blanket cellar amount.
