Policy change questions
Is my change effective as soon as I submit this form?
No. A change is not effective until FUW confirms it in writing. Until then, don't drive a new vehicle, cancel other coverage or tell a customer you're covered based on the request alone. If you need coverage right away, call (425) 242-5357.
Can a change be backdated?
Generally only with the carrier's approval, and usually not after a loss has occurred. Send changes before the date you need them.
Will a change affect my premium?
Many changes do. Adding vehicles, drivers, locations or higher limits usually adds premium; removing them may reduce it. We'll explain any adjustment when we confirm the change.
How do I add an additional insured?
Send the exact name and address and, ideally, the contract section that sets the requirement. Some policies include blanket additional insured endorsements; others need a specific endorsement. See our guide to additional insured endorsements for more.
What happens if I cancel mid-term?
The carrier calculates any return premium under the policy's cancellation terms. Some policies have minimum earned premiums or short-rate penalties. Have replacement coverage in place before the cancellation date if you still need it, and confirm whether your lender, landlord or contracts require notice.
Do I need to tell you about a new driver or vehicle right away?
Yes. Some auto policies give limited automatic coverage for newly acquired vehicles, but terms vary, and unreported drivers can create problems at claim time. Tell us before the driver or vehicle goes into service.
Need a change today?
For same-day changes, such as a new truck going into service, call and we'll work with your carrier.
