Classic & collector cars

Classic and collector car insurance at agreed value

A standard auto policy pays depreciated book value, not what your classic is worth. Collector coverage insures the full agreed value, protects parts and restorations, and is often less expensive because of limited use.

Agreed value · No depreciation · No cost to compare

  • Agreed value coverageInsure the full value, with no depreciation at claim time. A standard policy's actual cash value can be a fraction of collector worth.
  • Limited-use / low-mileage ratingHobby use (shows only, occasional pleasure or weekend driving) keeps premiums low.

How collector coverage works

Why a classic needs more than a regular car policy

Agreed value

You and the insurer agree on the car's value up front. A total loss pays that amount, with no depreciation.

  • Worth checking: a standard auto policy pays depreciated book value that ignores collector worth.

Limited-use rating

Collector policies assume a hobby vehicle, driven occasionally and not commuted, which is why premiums are often lower.

  • Eligibility usually requires a regular-use vehicle in the household, limited annual mileage and secure storage. We confirm you qualify.

Original parts & restoration

Claims are settled to preserve originality, with correct parts and qualified shops, and coverage can rise with a restoration.

  • Worth checking: during a restoration a fixed limit falls behind; inflation-guard or stated-value updates close that gap.

Parts, tools & transit

Covers your spare-parts inventory, specialty tools and the car while trailered or transported to events.

  • Worth checking: a regular auto policy covers none of this.

Shows, events & track

Coverage extends to car shows, rallies and cruise-ins, with optional track-day coverage for sanctioned events.

  • Worth checking: standard policies exclude track events and may limit at-show or in-transit damage.

Coverage descriptions are general summaries for education. They are not legal, tax or coverage advice, a statement of coverage, an offer or a binder. The collector checkup is illustrative and not a quote. Agreed value, eligibility (which typically requires a regular-use vehicle in the household, limited mileage and secure storage), available coverages and premiums vary by vehicle, use and carrier, are governed by the terms, conditions and exclusions of the policies issued and are subject to underwriting.
